About Livno

Livno

Livno is a town with a rich history that blends Mediterranean and mountain influences. Above the town rises the tower of the old Bistrička Old Town, while at the very heart lies the fascinating Duman spring, located in a cave at the foot of the cliffs. The region's biggest tourist attraction is the wild horses on the Krug plateau, roaming freely across the vast open spaces and offering a sight rarely seen in Europe. The town's gastronomic symbol is high-quality Livno cheese, whose production tradition spans centuries. The proximity of Buško Lake provides additional opportunities for recreation, fishing, and water sports. With its mosques, churches, and distinctive architecture, Livno represents an authentic mosaic of cultures in the setting of rugged karst beauty.
