Hadži Ahmeta Dukatara Mosque
Dukatareva Mosque, also known as Glavica Mosque, is one of the most striking symbols of Livno and a valuable monument of its rich cultural and historical heritage. Located in the old town center, this mosque bears witness to the Ottoman legacy that shaped the appearance and identity of Livno.
Built between 1562 and 1574, the mosque stands out for its harmonious architecture and authentic, archaic expression. It is distinguished by a tall dome and an unusually low minaret, which give it a special visual character. These elements recall the early Ottoman domed mosques built in Iznik (formerly Nicaea) during the 14th century.
Right next to the mosque rises the clock tower, which still tells the time today, further emphasizing the historical atmosphere of this part of the town. Together, these buildings form Livno’s recognizable silhouette and an essential stop for anyone who wants to feel the spirit of times gone by.
