About This Landmark
Planica Nordic Centre
The valley of ski flying, home of the largest ski flying hill in the world, with a visitor centre and wind tunnel.
Planica has been the site of ski flying records since the 1930s, and the Letalnica bratov Gorišek is the largest such hill in the world. Outside competition weeks the site is open as a visitor attraction: a chairlift or lift to the top of the hill for the view down the inrun, a museum of Slovenian ski jumping, a wind tunnel, and a zip line. The March ski flying weekend fills every bed in the valley, which is worth checking against your dates.
