About This Landmark

Kozice waterfalls

The Kozica Waterfalls are a hidden gem of the Fojnica region, in the shade of a centuries-old forest on the Kozica river. Just ten or so kilometres from Fojnica, far from busy roads and crowds, they have been preserved for true nature lovers. Along the Kozica several smaller falls and two larger drops follow one another, five to twenty metres high, their cold, clear water sliding down smooth stone slabs into pools amid a thundering roar.

A tidy forest path with a wooden gate, benches, bridges and a rest spot by a fountain leads to them. The surroundings add to it – along the slopes you can spot the traditional Fojnica charcoal kilns, orchards and forest fruits. Spring is loveliest, when the falls are at their fullest. Reaching the very foot needs care and good footwear, as the terrain is steep and slippery. Kozica is a perfect escape into the peace of untouched nature.
