About Bohinj

Bohinj

Bohinj is four times the surface area of Bled and has perhaps a fifth of the visitors. Because the whole lake lies within Triglav National Park, development is tightly capped, there is no promenade of hotels, and swimming from the shore is normal. It is the better base for walking: the Vogel cable car reaches 1,535 m in ten minutes, the Savica waterfall trailhead is at the western end, and the Seven Lakes valley starts above it. Bad-weather options are thin, which is worth planning for.
