About Istočno Sarajevo

Istočno Sarajevo

Istočno Sarajevo is a unique urban area made up of six municipalities, developing as a key economic and educational center in the eastern part of Republika Srpska. The city is inseparably linked to the mountain ranges that surround it, making it a European-recognized destination for winter and summer mountain tourism. The heart of the city consists of Istočno Novo Sarajevo and Istočna Ilidža with modern promenades and parks, while Pale are the historical and tourist gateway to Jahorina. With a rich cultural life, developed sports infrastructure, and proximity to the international airport, the city attracts young people and tourists seeking adrenaline. The gastronomic offer, from traditional Romanija kajmak to modern restaurants, along with the famous Krajina and Romanija hospitality, makes Istočno Sarajevo a place where tradition meets the future.
