Croatian Cultural Centre “Sveti Franjo”
The Croatian Cultural Center “Sveti Franjo,” located in the very heart of Tuzla, is a monumental project of the Franciscan Monastery that combines deep tradition, culture, and contemporary architecture. Built on the site of a former Catholic church, this center serves as a place of positive cultural memory, reviving the historical heritage through modern design. As a bearer of educational and scientific initiatives, the HKC is conceived as a versatile space open to all citizens of Tuzla, offering a rich program of cultural events that goes beyond the boundaries of any single community.
The project symbolizes the unbreakable, centuries-old bond between Bosnian Franciscans and the Croatian people with this region, strengthening a distinct identity woven into the foundations of the city. Through the revitalization of this space, Tuzla has gained a representative building that celebrates dialogue and art, while preserving the spiritual and cultural presence of the Franciscans as a lasting mark of humanism and community.
