Jablanica Lake
Jablanica Lake is one of the most beloved summer retreats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, set on the Neretva River between Konjic and Jablanica, along the M17 main road. It is an artificial reservoir, created in 1953 by the building of an 80-metre-high arch dam. It stretches some thirty kilometres upstream, covered with calm, blue-green water that gives the lake a special, almost mystical atmosphere.
Long admired for its beauty, today it is a paradise for anglers, water-sports lovers and the ever more popular rafting on its still waters. The lake is rich in fish – trout, softmouth trout, huchen, carp and more – making it a favourite among fishermen. Along the shore stand restaurants reachable only by water, where you can enjoy local specialities, above all the famous tomatoes from the Neretvica valley. The surrounding mountains, waterfalls and coves make it a perfect place to relax in nature.
