About This Landmark

Monastery of St. Father Nicholas

In the heart of the ethno village Stanišići near Bijeljina stands a monastery dedicated to Saint Father Nicholas, whose church is a faithful replica of the ancient Kumanica. This spiritual center is adorned with an iconostasis modeled after the one in the Lovnica Monastery, while the holy table contains the relics of Saint Nikolaj of Žiča and Emperor Uroš.

Nearby stands the konak, an exceptional example of medieval construction, as well as a stone amphitheater by the lake with 380 seats for cultural events. The entire complex exudes peace and tradition, blending Orthodox spirituality with an authentic atmosphere that takes visitors back to nobler times.
