Velež

Southeastern Herzegovina contains many intriguing attractions and sites, and one of them is Velež Mountain. Velež has a long mountaineering tradition and history, even though the access to certain mountain sections and its top is demanding and requires adequate equipment, while the western side provides the easiest access to the top. Its northern cliff and barrier are one of the most distinctive in the region, also bearing the names of renowned climbers. Recently, Velež Mountain has experienced rejuvenation through different Via Ferrata directions, including very demanding and challenging Via Ferrata ‘Srce Veleža’ as well as Via Ferrata on southern slopes within Fortica.
